Butchers go head-to-head to be crowned Welsh champion
20 Jul 2009
Seventeen Butchers from across Wales will be competing to be crowned Welsh Champion at this year's Royal Welsh Show.
The butchers were all category winners at the North and South Wales Awards for Innovation and Excellence in Meat Products held in Llandudno and Swansea earlier this year.
The category winners from both heats will now go head-to-head to be crowned the All Wales Champion.
The products will be professionally judged on the Hybu Cig Cymru - Meat Promotion Wales stand on Tuesday during the Royal Welsh Show.
Graham Titchener, HCC's Marketing Executive, said "This year we've seen a fantastic amount of effort by all the butchers who attended the regional heats and we had some excellent products entered into the awards this year.
"We are expecting a tough competition and the butchers who are aiming for the top prize at the Royal Welsh Show will have to be at their very best if they want to be crowned the Welsh Champion."
