Study Tours
Support for study tours is provided by HCC with funding through the Rural Development Plan for Wales 2007 - 20013. The funding is only available to people that are currently directly involved in agriculture in Wales.
Support of 50% up to £200 is available per person, please note only one person per business can claim the support. Click here to download an application form.
For a successful application please ensure that all the relevant information is provided in the claim form.
Study tours within Wales the UK and abroad can be funded but must focus on the following key areas;
- Genetic improvement
- Climate change/environmental issues
- Animal health and welfare
- Nutrition (animal and human)
- Product quality and safety
- Traceability
- Socio-economics (to improve the social and economic position of Welsh Beef and Lamb producers)
Dissemination of the information gathered during the study tour is vital. A report following the study tour will need to be provided to HCC within six weeks (Payment will not be processed until this report has been submitted) and an event should be held to disseminate the knowledge gathered during the study tour to a wider audience.
